DRIVING TESTS & QUALIFYING EXAMS AT CLA

Background: After completing a half-day driving test and qualifying exam at CLA, the next stage of your professional education is discussed. The training modules are the stepping stones towards certification as a VIP Chauffeur. A detailed written offer will be made.

 

THE PATH TO A DRIVING LICENCE

Driving licence category Code 121 B-BT/D1

Category B-BPT
Commercial passenger carrying vehicle with not more than 8 passenger seats, in addition to the driver’s seat, weight not exceeding 3.5 tonnes.

Driving licence cat. B.
Operation of a vehicle classified as cat. B or higher, excluding categories A and A1, on a regular basis for at least 1 year.

During this minimum period you have not committed any road traffic offenses leading to a revocation of your driving licence.

Fitness-for-duty examination by a medical practitioner.

Theory test:
self-study & 1 day of testing,
plus 1/2 day written exams

Practical test:
4 consecutive work days,
plus 1/2 day written exam.

Category D1
Passenger carrying vehicle with more than 8 but not more than 16 passenger seats, in addition to the driver’s seat.

Driving licence Cat. BPT Code 121 required.
Operation of a vehicle classified as cat. B on a regular basis for at least 1 year.

Fitness-for-duty examination by a medical practitioner.

Theory test:
self-study & 1 day of testing,
plus 1/2 day exams

Practical test:
2 consecutive work days,
plus a 1/2 day written exam.

DRIVING TESTS

The chauffeur training program category B-BPT Code 121 and category D1.

CH (Schweiz)
These two driving tests are conducted by all official and governmental driver and vehicle licensing offices in Switzerland.

EU (Europäische Union)
A successfully completed test is recognized throughout the EU.

Ideally you should obtain your basic driving skills in your country of residence.
